SproochHub

Luxembourgish language corpus platform

What SproochHub is

SproochHub is a linguistic platform of the Zenter fir d'Lëtzebuerger Sprooch (ZLS), the Luxembourgish language centre of the Ministry of Culture. The ZLS documents, standardises and promotes the Luxembourgish language; it publishes the Lëtzebuerger Online Dictionnaire (LOD) and the official spelling, and it develops language technology for Luxembourgish.

SproochHub is where the centre keeps its language data. Staff and research partners use it to collect speech recordings and texts, to transcribe and time-align the recordings, to search everything with a concordancer, and to export datasets for linguistic research and for training speech recognition and synthesis systems such as Sproochmaschinn.

Who can use it

The application requires an account, which the ZLS creates for its staff and for research partners. Every collection carries a licence that states who may read, listen to, download and publish its material. Most of the material was provided by its owners for research use only, so it is not open to the public. Collections under open licences will be released through the Luxembourg open data portal.
